

Meet the Founder of Hiking, Healing, & Horses
Dr. Veronica Franklin, also known as "Dr. V", is the founder of Hiking, Healing, & Horses, a certified Nature Informed Therapist (NIT), trained by PATH for equine-assisted therapy, and a member of the Ebony Equine Assisted Therapy Community.
She currently serves as the Director of Urgent Behavioral Health and Operations Manager for Largo MOB at Kaiser Permanente MAS.

Dr. Franklin previously served as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Refresh Mental Health Services, and led the Eating Disorder Clinic in Washington and SUD clinics in DC. and New Mexico. She has published in academia, “Factors that influence African American Women pursue Counseling."
She is a recognized speaker on African American women’s trauma, experiential therapy, and LGBTQIA+ issues. She is a Fulbright Scholar and runs a private practice for Nature Informed Therapy as well as Equine Assisted Therapy in southern Maryland.
